To install the Dwyer Series 655A Wet-Wet Differential Pressure Transmitter, follow these steps:
1. Location: Select a location where the temperature will be between -20 to 200°F (-29 to 93°C). The distance from the receiver is only limited by the total loop resistance. Keep in mind that extended lengths of tubing or piping may slightly increase the response time.
2. Position: The transmitter is not position sensitive, but for best accuracy, it is recommended to calibrate the unit in a vertical position with the pressure connections at horizontal. However, it can be used at other angles as well.
3. Pressure Connections: The pressure connections are 1/4" female NPT. Use a small amount of plumbers thread tape or other suitable sealant to prevent leaks. Ensure that the pressure passage inside the port is not blocked.
4. Electrical Connections: The transmitter operates on 2-wire operation. An external power supply delivering 8-38 VDC with a minimum current capability of 40 mA DC is required. Use shielded 2-wire cable for control loop wiring. The maximum length of wire connecting the transmitter and receiver depends on wire size and receiver resistance. Wiring should not contribute more than 10% of the receiver resistance to total loop resistance.
5. Maintenance: Once the Series 655A Differential Pressure Transmitter is installed, no routine maintenance is required. However, it is recommended to periodically check the system calibration. If repair is needed, the transmitter should be returned to the manufacturer as it is not field serviceable. Attempting field repair may void the warranty. Contact customer service to receive a return goods authorization number before shipping.
