To install the CyberPower UT1050EG Backup UPS System, follow these steps:
1. Unpack the UPS system and ensure that all the components are included.
2. Recharge the battery for at least 8 hours to achieve its maximum charge capacity.
3. If you plan to use the PowerPanel® Personal Edition software, connect the USB cable to the USB port on the UPS and your computer.
4. To protect fax, telephone, modem line, or network cable, connect a telephone cable or network cable from the wall jack outlet to the IN jack of the UPS.
5. Connect another telephone cable or network cable from the OUT jack on the UPS to your modem, computer, telephone, fax machine, or network device.
6. Ensure that the UPS is installed in a temperature and humidity-controlled indoor area, free of conductive contaminants.
7. Make sure to turn off the unit and unplug it from the AC power source before servicing the battery or installing a computer component.
