To install the ZALMAN CNPS4X CPU Cooler, follow these steps:
1. Before installation, ensure that you have checked the components list and condition of the product. If any problem is found, contact the retailer for a replacement.
2. Determine the recommended orientation of the cooler based on your motherboard model. The orientation may vary depending on the motherboard.
3. For Intel users (LGA775/115X/1200 CPUs):
a. Remove the plastic cover from the bracket and attach the bracket to the back plate.
b. Pay attention to the orientation of the nuts and side caps.
4. For AMD users (AM4/AM3+/AM3/FM2+/FM2 CPUs):
a. Remove the plastic cover from the bracket and attach the bracket to the back plate.
b. Pay attention to the orientation of the nuts and side caps.
5. Once the bracket is securely attached, place the cooler onto the CPU, aligning the mounting holes.
6. Apply thermal grease onto the CPU surface. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If contact is made, wash it off with water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
7. Secure the cooler in place by tightening the nuts evenly and diagonally.
8. Connect the fan to the 4-pin connector on the motherboard for PWM control.
9. Ensure that the cooler is properly installed and securely fastened.
