To start the STIHL HS 45 600mm Petrol Hedge Trimmer, follow these steps:
1. Perform a visual inspection of the machine to ensure it is in good condition and properly assembled.
2. Make sure the fuel tank is filled with the correct fuel mixture of gasoline and engine oil.
3. Move the stop switch to the "I" position.
4. Press down the lockout lever and squeeze the throttle trigger, then release both levers.
5. Set the choke lever to the " " position if the engine is cold. If the engine is warm, set the choke lever to the " ".
6. Press the manual fuel pump bulb at least five times to prime the fuel system.
7. Place the machine on the ground with the cutting blades clear of any obstacles.
8. Hold the machine firmly with your left hand on the front handle and press down.
9. Pull the starter grip slowly with your right hand until you feel it engage, then give it a brisk strong pull.
10. Do not let the starter grip snap back. Guide it slowly back into the housing.
11. If the engine is cold, pull the starter rope five times. Set the choke lever to the " " position and continue cranking until the engine runs.
12. If the engine is warm, continue cranking until the engine runs.
13. Once the engine is running, blip the throttle trigger to allow the engine to settle down to idle speed.
