The STEVAL-IFP040V1 expansion board can be powered in two ways.
1. Power supply via the STM32 Nucleo development board: By default, the expansion board is powered by the STM32 Nucleo development board through the digital supply voltage. The preferred voltage (3.3V or 5V) can be selected using the SW3 switch on the expansion board.
2. External power supply: Alternatively, you can supply power to the expansion board by connecting an external supply voltage (7-12V) to the CN2 connector on the expansion board. In this case, you need to close the ground loop by either mounting the D2 diode (for reverse polarity protection) or closing the J2 jumper.
Please refer to Section 1.1.1 (Digital section) and Section 1.1.2 (Power section) of the user manual for more detailed information and diagrams on power supply options.
