To adjust the phase modulation and depth on the INSTRUo Cruïnn Analog Stereo Oscillator Plus Expander, you can use the Rate and Depth knobs. The Rate xxxx controls the rate of the five triangle waveform LFOs used for phase modulation of the five phase-displaced sawtooth variants. By turning the Rate xxxx clockwise, you increase the rate of the LFOs, resulting in faster phase modulation. Turning it counterclockwise decreases the rate.
The Depth xxxx controls the depth of phase modulation applied to the five phase-displaced sawtooth variants by the five triangle waveform LFOs. By turning the Depth xxxx clockwise, you increase the depth of modulation, resulting in more pronounced phase displacement. Turning it counterclockwise decreases the depth.
It's important to note that the module has a soft clipping circuit implemented to prevent hard clipping when parallel sawtooth waves sum with perfect phase alignment. This circuit limits the amplitude range to approximately 10Vpp and turns the built-in VCA into a voltage-controlled saturator that can accentuate nonlinearity of the sawtooth waveforms.
