To install the Danfoss DEVI Heating Cables, please follow the guidelines provided in the installation manual. Here are some key points to keep in mind:
1. Safety: Always install the heating cables according to local building regulations and wiring rules. De-energize all power circuits before installation and service. Use residual current device (RCD) protection with a maximum trip rating of 30 mA. Earth the screen of each heating cable according to local electricity regulations. Connect the heating cables via a switch providing all pole disconnection. Use a correctly sized fuse or circuit breaker according to local regulations.
2. Installation: The heating cables should not be installed at temperatures below -5°C. The bending diameter of the heating cable should be at least 6 times the cable diameter. Do not bend the connections. Protect the free end of the cold lead to avoid water ingress.
3. Mechanical Class: The heating cables have different mechanical classes based on their resistance to mechanical damage. M1 cables are suitable for low-risk applications, while M2 cables can be used in high-risk applications. Choose the appropriate mechanical class based on your installation requirements.
4. Warranty: The Danfoss DEVI Heating Cables come with different warranty periods depending on the product. There is a 20-year full service warranty for heating cables and mats, a 10-year product warranty for insulation plates and certain self-limiting cables, and a 5-year product warranty for other self-limiting cables. The warranty covers reparation or replacement, as well as installation and floor materials. Make sure to complete the warranty certificate correctly and provide proof of purchase to avail the warranty.
