To clean the Elite Gourmet EWM-2207# Electric Non-Stick Belgian Waffle Maker, follow these steps:
1. Always unplug the waffle maker and allow it to cool before cleaning.
2. Brush away any loose crumbs from the grooves of the waffle maker.
3. Wipe the grids clean with a paper towel, absorbing any oil or butter that may have accumulated in the grooves. You can also wipe the grids with a damp cloth. Do not use anything abrasive that can scratch or damage the non-stick coating.
4. Wipe the outside of the waffle maker with a damp cloth only. Do not immerse it in water or any other liquid.
5. If any batter becomes baked onto the grids, pour a little cooking oil onto the hardened batter. Let it sit for 5 minutes to soften the batter, then wipe it off with a paper towel or soft cloth.
6. Do not use metal utensils to remove the waffles, as they can damage the non-stick surface.
7. Store the waffle maker in the closed position. The unit stands on end for convenient storage. Use the cord wrap on the bottom of the unit for cord storage.
