To set up the Brookstone BKSBRGB-N Smart Color Changing Bulb, follow these steps:
1. Download the "Brookstone Smart" app from the Google Play Store for Android devices or the App Store for iPhone devices.
2. Open the app and register and login.
3. Make sure your phone is connected to your Wi-Fi network, specifically a 2.4GHz network, and ensure that Bluetooth is turned on.
4. xxxx in the Smart Bulb into the light socket. Wait for the light to blink rapidly for about 5-7 seconds. If the light doesn't enter setup mode automatically, you can manually put it into setup mode by turning the light switch on/off about 4-5 times and then leaving it on. The light should start blinking rapidly.
5. In the app, press the "+" symbol in the top right corner to add a device.
6. A pop-up window will appear asking to add the Smart Bulb. Press "Go to add" and then click on the "+" icon on the next screen.
7. Make sure your phone is connected to the Wi-Fi network that the device will be connected to. Enter your password for the correct Wi-Fi network and confirm.
8. The connecting process will begin. Do not turn off the Smart Bulb or phone while connecting. Wait for the connection process to complete.
9. Once the device has been successfully added, you can name the device whatever you like in the app. The Smart Bulb is now ready for use.
Note: It is important to ensure that your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network during the setup process, as the Smart Bulb does not support 5GHz networks.
