To curl your hair using the CONAIR CD117X Hair Curler Wand, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that your hair is clean and completely dried before using the curling wand.
2. Plug the wand into an electrical outlet and turn it on. The Power/Low 285˚F setting will become illuminated. Allow the unit to heat up for 30 seconds.
3. Take a 1-inch wide section of hair, starting 2 inches from the scalp.
4. Wind the section of hair around the thicker portion of the barrel towards the cool tip.
5. Hold the end of the hair in place at the cool tip for 5 to 8 seconds, depending on your hair type, and then release. The curling wand does not have a clamp, allowing you to easily curl your hair without kinks.
6. For tighter, bouncier curls, roll less hair. For loose, free-flowing curls, roll more hair.
7. To "set" the curl, do not comb or brush your hair until it cools.
8. Repeat the process on additional sections of hair until you achieve the desired hairstyle.
Note: It is important to use the heat protective glove provided to protect your fingers from temporary contact with the hot barrel when wrapping the hair around the wand. The glove is designed to give initial contact protection, but prolonged contact with the hot surface may cause discomfort. Never leave the curling wand on and unattended. It will shut itself off automatically within 60 minutes if left unused.
