To install and secure the SPORTS AFIELD SA5520LZ-AM Tactical LZ Ammo Safe, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that you have at least two people to assist with the installation, as the safe is heavy and requires stability during installation.
2. Choose a suitable location for the safe, preferably on a lower level of your home where fire temperatures are lower and away from highly combustible materials.
3. If possible, secure the safe to the floor using the provided hardware or consult a hardware retailer for suitable fastening hardware for your specific mounting surface.
4. Use a drill or hammer drill with a 1/2" drill bit to drill pilot holes in the floor surface based on the type of hardware being used and the type of floor surface.
5. Insert and drive the plastic anchoring plugs into the pilot holes using a hammer.
6. Thread all four anchor bolts through the factory drilled bolt down holes in the bottom of the safe and tighten them securely.
7. Replace the four black caps onto the floor of the safe.
8. To install the E-lock, remove the lock face from the box located inside the lower door organizer pocket.
9. Insert a 9V alkaline battery into the battery compartment on the back of the lock face.
10. Plug the E-lock cable into the back of the E-lock, ensuring it is properly aligned.
11. Align the lock face to the backer plate and turn it clockwise until it clicks into place.
12. To set up the security code for the E-lock, key in the preset factory code [1 5 9 #]. The right light will turn green. Turn the handle to ensure the bolts are activated.
13. On the inside of the safe door, locate the small brass cap and unscrew it to reveal the reset button. Press and release the reset button to hear a beep.
14. Enter your new 3 to 8 digit security code followed by the [*] symbol. The keypad will beep twice. Re-enter the new code followed by the [#] symbol. The keypad will flash yellow, beep twice, and then flash green.
15. While the safe door is still open, confirm your newly entered security code by entering it followed by the [#] symbol. If successful, you will hear two beeps and the green light will illuminate, allowing you to retract the bolts.
Note: It is important to test the security code multiple times before closing the safe to ensure it has been saved correctly.
