To install the HILTI CFS-B Firestop Bandage, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the surface: Ensure that the surface where the bandage will be installed is clean, dry, and free from any loose materials.
2. Measure and cut: Measure the length of the pipe penetration and cut the bandage to the required length, allowing for a minimum overlap of 50 mm.
3. Wrap the bandage: Wrap the bandage tightly around the pipe penetration, ensuring that it covers the entire circumference of the pipe and extends beyond the penetration opening.
4. Secure the bandage: Use the self-adhesive strip on the bandage to secure it in place. Press firmly to ensure good adhesion.
5. Overlap multiple layers: If multiple layers of bandage are required, overlap each layer by a minimum of 50 mm to ensure proper firestopping performance.
6. Finish the installation: Trim any excess bandage if necessary. The bandage can be left as is or painted over, depending on your preference.
Please note that the HILTI CFS-B Firestop Bandage is suitable for use in openings in concrete, masonry block, or drywall. It is highly versatile and can be used with various insulation materials and pipe materials, including copper, steel, and other metals with heat conductivity lower than that of copper (e.g., cast iron, stainless steel, etc.).
