To measure leakage current using the UNI-T UT255D High Voltage Clamp Ammeter, follow these steps:
1. Hang the ammeter onto the conductor or cable you want to test. Make sure to set the conductor at Area A of the ammeter for accurate measurements.
2. For inspecting leakage current of a multicore cable, hook the ammeter onto the cable and perform the inspection alongside the cable. If a large current displayed on the receiver suddenly changes to a small or zero current, it indicates current leakage at the inspected point on the cable.
3. To measure single-phase leakage current of an electrical appliance, hook the neutral and live wires together and measure the current.
4. To measure the leakage current of the grounding wire of the equipment, hook a grounding wire to the ammeter and measure the current.
5. To test the total leakage current of a four three-phase wires system, hook all four three-phase wires together and measure the current.
6. To measure the current of the main circuit, hook a main line to the ammeter and measure the current.
Please note that high voltage and electrical safety precautions must be followed, and the operation should be performed by trained and certified personnel. Refer to the instruction manual for more details and safety guidelines.
