To install the PCI X3 Pillar Replacement Bracket, you will need the following tools: Torx T-30 Socket, Plastic Clip Remover, Phillips Screwdriver, 1/4" Drill Bit & Drill, and a Cutting Wheel.
1. Start by using a Torx T-30 socket to remove the two bolts located between the console pillars. This will allow you to lift the console up.
2. Once the console is lifted, unscrew the nut located behind the Start/Stop button. Unclip any wire holding clips and unplug the button.
3. Using the provided photo as a guide, draw a line 1 ¼" below the bottom of the accessory switches. Keep the sides long, as this is where you will be drilling holes into the plastic to secure the upper part of the radio mount. Carefully cut along the line to remove the pillars.
4. Place the bracket against the console and drill ¼" holes through the plastic sides using the bracket as a template.
5. Remove the bracket from the car to install the radio, intercom, and start/stop button. Install your radio using the side screws into the radio mount. Place the radio and mount into the bracket from behind. Install the beauty ring on the face of the bracket, ensuring the sides sit flush with the bracket, and install the hardware. Mount the intercom, start/stop button, and push-to-talk buttons if desired.
6. Place the bracket with all equipment back into the car. Install the supplied hardware into the holes drilled in step 4. Reinstall the hardware removed in step 1.
7. If you purchased optional side covers, line them up with the holes and attach using stock plastic push rivets for the right panel and the included plastic push rivets for the left panel. Additionally, drill a ¼" hole on the driver side center console using the side plates as a template and fasten with the included plastic push rivet.
