To install the DYNOJET 2014-2016 Kawasaki Z1000 Power Commander 6, follow these steps:
1. Remove the seats, right and left side body panels below and forward of the seat, and the fuel tank cover.
2. Remove the fuel tank and airbox.
3. Secure the Power Commander 6 module under the seat and next to the battery using the supplied Velcro. Clean both surfaces with the supplied alcohol swab before applying the Velcro adhesive.
4. Route the Power Commander 6 wiring harness forward toward the engine, following inside the left frame rail. Ensure that the module and wiring harness are clear of the exhaust valve servo pulley movement in the tail section.
5. Secure the Power Commander 6 ground wire with the small ring lug to the common ground location at the center of the frame, just rear of the engine. This common ground is located underneath the black rubber flap.
6. Unplug all four of the bike's fuel injectors.
7. Plug the Power Commander 6 wiring harness in-line of each injector and the stock wiring harness. The pair of leads with ORANGE colored wires go in-line of the Cylinder #1 (leftmost) injector, the pair with YELLOW colored wires go in-line of the Cylinder #2 injector, the pair with GREEN-colored wires go in-line of the Cylinder #3 injector, and the pair with BLUE-colored wires go in-line of the Cylinder #4 (rightmost) injector.
8. Route the pair of 3-pin connectors on the Power Commander 6 wiring harness towards the right side of the throttle bodies.
9. Locate and unplug the Lower Primary Throttle Position Sensor, which is located on the right side of the throttle bodies. Do NOT plug the Power Commander 6 into the Upper Secondary Throttle Position Sensor.
10. Plug the pair of 3-pin connectors on the Power Commander 6 wiring harness in-line of the Lower Primary Throttle Position Sensor and the stock wiring harness.
11. Reinstall the airbox, fuel tank, bodywork, and seats.
Optional inputs:
- Speed: Connect the RED/YELLOW wire on the BLACK connector of the ECM.
- Engine temp: Connect the BLUE/WHITE wire located on the left side of the engine under the throttle bodies.
- 12V source for Auto-tune: Connect the RED wire on the tail/tag light connector.
