To install the DYNOJET 2008-2010 Kawasaki ZX-10R Power Commander 6, please follow these steps:
1. Turn off the ignition before starting the installation.
2. Gather all the parts included in the package: Power Commander 6, installation guide, USB cable, DYNOJET decals, Power Commander decals, Velcro strips, and an alcohol swab.
3. Familiarize yourself with the optional accessory inputs available for the Power Commander 6, such as Map, Shifter, Speed, and Analog. These inputs allow you to customize and optimize your bike's performance.
4. For wire connections, remove the rubber plug on the backside of the Power Commander 6 unit and loosen the xxxx for the corresponding input. Insert a 22-24 gauge wire into the hole until it stops, then tighten the xxxx . Reinstall the rubber plug. Tinning the wires with solder can make insertion easier.
5. Begin the installation by removing the main seat and passenger seat of your Kawasaki ZX-10R.
6. Remove the covers for each side of the fuel tank.
7. Prop up the front of the fuel tank.
8. Slide the junction box under the main seat from its rubber sleeve to make room for the Power Commander 6 harness.
9. Route the Power Commander 6 harness underneath the sub-frame crossover.
10. Locate the BROWN 16-pin connector under the fuel tank on the right-hand side of the bike. Unplug it from the throttle bodies.
11. Attach the connectors from the Power Commander 6 to the stock wiring harness and throttle body harness.
12. Attach the ground wire from the Power Commander 6 to the stock wiring harness chassis ground. This connection is next to the Power Commander 6 connection and starter relay.
13. Install the Power Commander 6 in the tail section of the bike.
14. Lower the fuel tank, replace the covers, and reinstall the main seat and passenger seat.
15. Download the latest map files from the DYNOJET website at dynojet.com/tunes to optimize your bike's performance.
Optional Inputs:
- Speed: Connect the BLUE/YELLOW wire to the speed sensor located on the left-hand side of the engine case in front of the c/s sprocket.
- Engine Temperature: Connect the LIGHT ORANGE wire to the 10-pin grey connector under the fuel tank.
- 12V Source for AutoTune: Connect the RED wire of the tail light connector to provide power for the AutoTune feature.
