Installation of the DYNOJET Power Commander 6 on your Honda CRF450R-RX involves the following steps:
1. Remove the seat, side covers, and radiator shrouds. Also, remove the engine mounting bracket on the left side of the bike.
2. Loosen the fuel tank to access the fuel injector. The tank does not need to be completely removed.
3. Use the supplied Velcro strips to secure the Power Commander 6 module to the top of the rear fender, just behind the airbox. For the 2018 model, secure the module to the battery. Clean the surfaces with the supplied alcohol swab before attaching the Velcro.
4. Route the Power Commander 6 wiring harness forward towards the engine, following along the left side frame rail.
5. Unplug the fuel injector and plug the Power Commander 6 wiring harness in-line with the fuel injector and the stock wiring harness.
6. Locate and unplug the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) at the left side of the throttle body. It is a blue 3-pin connector.
7. Plug the Power Commander 6 wiring harness in-line with the TPS and the stock wiring harness.
8. Locate and unplug the stock Crank Position Sensor connectors. These are black 6-pin connectors located behind the engine mounting bracket. They are covered with a black rubber boot.
9. Plug the Power Commander 6 wiring harness in-line with the stock Crank Position Sensor connectors.
10. Reinstall the left-side engine mounting bracket.
11. Secure the Power Commander 6 ground wire with the small ring terminal to the stock common ground bolt on the left side of the frame.
12. Reinstall the fuel tank, seat, and side covers.
