To open the Phoenix FS1290 Series Electronic Lock for the first time, you will need to use the emergency key. Here are the steps:
1. Insert the emergency key into the lock and turn it clockwise.
2. While holding the key to the right, push the handle downward to open the safe.
It is important to keep the emergency key in a safe place, but not inside the safe itself. Once you have opened the safe using the emergency key, you can proceed to insert batteries and set user codes as described in the manual.
