To install the BOSE FreeSpace FS2C and FS4CE Retrofit Kit, please follow the steps outlined in the installation guide provided. Here is a summary of the installation process:
1. Assembling the Tile Bridge:
- Align the rails and insert the tabs into the slots.
- Pull the rails outward to secure them together.
- If installing in a hard ceiling, assemble the tile bridge after inserting the assembled rails and ring through the hole cutout.
- Align the rails parallel to each other and press the tile bridge ring down to secure it to the rails.
2. Preparing Acoustic Ceiling Tile:
- Remove the existing loudspeaker from the ceiling and the ceiling tile.
- Remove the existing tile bridge if applicable.
- Place the assembled tile bridge across the ceiling grid, adjusting if necessary.
- Replace the tile in the ceiling.
3. Preparing Hard Ceiling (Existing Construction):
- Remove the existing loudspeaker from the ceiling and the existing tile bridge if applicable.
- Insert the tile bridge rails and ring through the hole and place the rails parallel to each other across the ceiling grid or ceiling furring.
- Assemble the tile bridge.
4. Using a Safety Cable:
- Some regional construction codes may require the use of a secondary securing mechanism.
- Bose recommends using a safety wire as a secondary securing mechanism.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for any secondary securing mechanism implemented.
5. Installation:
- Place the retrofit ring over the loudspeaker and flush against the loudspeaker baffle.
- Follow the loudspeaker installation guide for instructions on installing the loudspeaker.
- Refer to the provided figures in the manual for visual representations of the FreeSpace loudspeakers installed with retrofit kits.
