To change the spindle speed on the JET JVM-836-1 Step Pulley Milling Machine, follow these steps:
1. Locate the speed control dial on the front panel of the machine. It is labeled with numbers corresponding to the different speed settings.
2. Turn off the machine and make sure it is unplugged from the power source.
3. Loosen the belt tension by loosening the motor mounting bolts. This will allow you to adjust the position of the motor to change the speed.
4. Refer to the speed chart provided in the machine's manual to determine the appropriate speed for your specific application.
5. Move the motor to the desired position based on the speed chart. The motor has multiple pulley positions that correspond to different speed ranges.
6. Once the motor is in the desired position, tighten the motor mounting bolts to secure it in place.
7. Verify that the belt is properly aligned on the pulleys and adjust if necessary.
8. Plug in the machine and turn it on.
9. Use the speed control dial to select the desired speed setting. Start with a lower speed and gradually increase it as needed.
