Installation and usage of the CONCEPTRONIC SCR01B Smart ID Card Reader is simple and straightforward. Here are the steps to install and use the card reader:
1. Plug the card reader into an available USB port on your computer. The card reader uses a USB Type A male interface.
2. The card reader is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Mac OS X 10.6 and higher. It supports both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
3. Once connected, the card reader should be recognized by your computer as a USB device. It is a plug and play device, which means it should be automatically installed by your operating system without the need for additional drivers.
4. To use the card reader, insert your IC/ID card into the card slot. The card reader supports ISO7816 Class A, B, and C cards with voltages of 5V, 3V, and 1.8V.
5. The card reader is compatible with eID (Belgium) and DNIe (Spain) cards, which can be used for online tax reporting, online banking, and online identification.
6. The card reader supports various protocols, including T=0 and T=1, and it meets Microsoft WHQL USB Smart Card Reader requirements.
7. If you have a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card for phone book editing, the card reader also has a SIM port for that purpose.
8. When you are done using the card reader, you can safely remove it from your computer by unplugging it from the USB port.
