To install the KUFATEC VW Amarok 2H Complete set Active Sound incl. Sound Booster, please follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the power supply by cutting off the battery from the vehicle's electric system, following the manufacturer’s specifications.
2. Only use bolts, screws, and fastening elements that are suitable for the installation and do not affect driving safety.
3. Connect the device only to a 12V vehicle voltage with a chassis ground to the car body. Do not use it in vehicles with a DC 24V battery wiring system voltage.
4. Avoid installing the device in places that may hinder safe driving or the functionality of other vehicle units.
5. Make sure to use the device only with the specified vehicles and model line mentioned in the instruction manual.
6. Kufatec GmbH & Co.KG assumes no liability for damage caused by faulty installation, unsuitable connections, or assembling in inappropriate vehicle types or models.
7. The unit processes data out of the MOST protocol from the vehicle. Kufatec GmbH & Co.KG does not guarantee the usability of the product with manufacturer's changes within the same model line and model year.
8. Check your manufacturer's conditions and warranty before starting the installation to ensure compliance with warranty regulations.
9. Kufatec GmbH & Co.KG reserves the right to change the device specification without notice.
10. The use of a sound booster may require registration in the vehicle papers and compliance with local regulations. Check the regulations of your country and consult the responsible TÜV/DEKRA office for specific registration options.
11. Before installation, ensure that there is enough space for the sound generator. If there is no space, contact technical support before proceeding.
12. Follow the provided installation instructions for mounting the external sound generator behind the engine block and securing it with suitable screws.
13. Solder the twisted wires of the cable set for the CAN signal to the respective wire of the on-board control unit. Disconnect the white plug from the on-board control unit for this step.
14. Uncover the back side of the fuse box and solder the wire of the cable set for the ignition plus (red/white) to the thick black/yellow wire.
15. Connect the ground cable (brown) to a suitable ground spot located at the footwell area on the driver’s side, near the A-column.
16. Lay the wire of the cable set with the push button for switching sound profiles in the vehicle interior and fasten the push button in an optional assembly spot.
17. Lay the cable set to the outer noise generator through the rubber boot under the carpet on the passenger’s side. Connect the cable set to the outer noise generator.
18. Reassemble the vehicle in reverse order to complete the installation.
