To change the temperature settings on your KitchenAid side-by-side refrigerator, follow these steps:
1. Locate the Temperature Control UI, which is located above the external dispenser on the freezer door.
2. Press the Freezer or Refrigerator picture button once to decrease the temperature by 1 degree.
3. Once the temperature setting reaches the lowest allowed temperature for that zone, the next button press will change the temperature to the highest allowed temperature for that zone (looping).
4. The recommended temperature range for the refrigerator is 36°F to 43°F (2°C to 6°C), with the factory default temperature being 37.4°F (3°C).
5. The recommended temperature range for the freezer is -9°F to -3°F (-23°C to -16°C), with the factory default temperature being -0.4°F (-18.0°C).
Remember to wait at least 24 hours between adjustments and check the temperatures before making further adjustments. Additionally, if the temperature is too warm or too cold, check the air vents to ensure they are not blocked before adjusting the controls.
