To connect and configure the LevelOne FEP-0811W250 8 Port Fast Ethernet PoE Switch, please follow the steps below:
1. Hardware Installation:
a. Connect one end of the provided power cable to the power input port on the switch and the other end to a power outlet.
b. Connect your network devices (computers, IP cameras, etc.) to the RJ45 ports on the switch using Ethernet cables.
c. If you want to mount the switch in a 19-inch rack, use the included rackmount kit to secure the switch in place.
2. Power over Ethernet (PoE) Configuration:
a. The FEP-0811W250 switch supports IEEE 802.3af/at PoE, which allows it to provide power to PoE-enabled devices. Simply connect your PoE devices to the PoE ports on the switch.
b. The switch will automatically detect and provide power to compatible PoE devices. Non-standard PoE devices are also protected.
3. Network Configuration:
a. The switch supports auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDIX, which means you can connect devices using either straight-through or crossover Ethernet cables.
b. The switch also supports full/half-duplex operation and IEEE 802.3x Flow Control for reliable data transmission.
4. Additional Information:
a. The switch has LED indicators for Power, Active, 10/100M, and PoE, which provide visual status information.
b. The operating temperature range is from 10°C to 40°C, and the operating humidity range is from 10% to 90%.
c. The switch has a total power budget of 250W, allowing up to 30W per port.
