To install and configure the level one POR-1220 Outdoor Gigabit PoE-Plus Repeater, please follow these steps:
1. Physical Installation:
a. Choose a suitable location for the repeater, preferably near the devices you want to extend the network to.
b. Ensure that the repeater is placed in a weatherproof area as it has an IP65-rated housing.
c. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the "IN" port of the repeater.
d. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the Power Sending Equipment (PSE), such as a Gigabit PoEPlus switch.
e. Connect the devices you want to extend the network to the "OUT" ports of the repeater. One port is for PoE devices (power + data), and the other is for non-PoE devices (data only).
2. Power and PoE Configuration:
a. Ensure that the PSE (Power Sending Equipment) is providing power to the repeater through the Ethernet cable connected to the "IN" port.
b. The repeater does not require an external power supply as it receives power from the PSE.
3. Daisy-Chaining (optional):
a. If you need to extend the network further, you can daisy-chain multiple POR-1220 repeaters.
b. Connect the "OUT" port of one repeater to the "IN" port of the next repeater using Ethernet cables.
c. Repeat the process for each additional repeater.
4. Configuration and Management:
a. The POR-1220 repeater does not require any software or configuration. It operates as a plug-and-play device.
b. The repeater will automatically forward the power and data signals to the connected devices.
Please refer to the POR-1220 Quick Installation Guide for visual instructions and additional information.
