To install and set up the LevelOne POR-1200 Outdoor PoE-Plus Repeater, please follow the steps below:
1. Mounting: Use the included mounting kit to securely mount the POR-1200 repeater in a suitable outdoor location. Ensure that the mounting surface is stable and can support the weight of the repeater.
2. Connections: Connect the POR-1200 repeater to your network using Ethernet cables. The repeater has three RJ-45 ports: one "IN" port and two "OUT" ports.
- Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the "IN" port of the repeater.
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the Power Sending Equipment (PSE), such as a PoE-Plus switch, that will provide power and data to the repeater.
- Connect one end of another Ethernet cable to one of the "OUT" ports of the repeater.
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the device that you want to extend the PoE connection to (e.g., a PoE IP camera).
- If you need to extend the connection to a non-PoE device, connect an Ethernet cable from the second "OUT" port of the repeater to the non-PoE device.
3. Power: The POR-1200 repeater does not require an additional power supply. It receives power from the Power Sending Equipment (PSE) through the "IN" port.
4. Daisy Chaining: If you need to extend the range further, you can daisy chain multiple POR-1200 repeaters. Simply connect the "OUT" port of one repeater to the "IN" port of the next repeater using Ethernet cables.
5. Configuration: The POR-1200 repeater is a plug-and-play device and does not require any software installation or configuration. Once the connections are made, the repeater will automatically forward the Power over Ethernet (PoE) to the remote device.
