To install the IDENTIFIX GX460 Pneumatic Cylinder, follow these steps:
1. Start by installing the pneumatic cylinder assembly with the clip. Make sure the clip is securely installed to the cylinder.
2. Connect the height control tube.
3. If using safety stands and a jack, jack up the rear axle assembly until the bottom of the pneumatic cylinder assembly touches the rear axle assembly. Install the pin at the lower side of the pneumatic cylinder assembly to the hole in the rear axle housing. Ensure that the pin fits securely in the hole.
4. Temporarily install the nut.
5. Align the matchmarks on the rear pneumatic cylinder with the matchmarks on the rear axle housing.
6. If using a swing arm type lift, lower the vehicle until the tires contact the ground, and continue lowering the vehicle slowly until the bottom of the pneumatic cylinder assembly touches the rear axle housing. Align the seating pin on the cylinder with the hole in the rear axle assembly and install the pneumatic cylinder assembly to the rear axle housing. Ensure that the pin fits securely in the hole.
7. Temporarily install the nut.
8. Start the engine and replenish the pneumatic cylinder assembly with air.
9. Tighten the nut to a torque of 20 N·m {204 kgf·cm, 15ft·lbf}.
10. Inspect for air leaks.
11. Inspect the vehicle height.
