To clean the BluMill Coffee Machine with Milk Frother, follow these steps:
1. Cleaning the Milk Reservoir and Frothing Tube:
- Remove the milk reservoir from the unit and open the lid.
- Pour out any leftover milk and rinse the reservoir and lid with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry well.
- You can also place the milk reservoir in the dishwasher (top rack), but do not place the lid in the dishwasher.
- Place a large empty cup under the frothing tube.
- Press and hold the Latte/Clean button for 3 seconds to activate the clean function. Let the unit dispense water through the tube for approximately 30 seconds.
- Press the Latte/Clean button once to stop the process.
- Dispose of any water left in the milk reservoir and place it back in the unit.
2. Cleaning the Brew Head, Porta-Filter, and Filter:
- Switch off the unit and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
- Remove the porta-filter and discard the coffee grounds.
- Wash the porta-filter and filter with warm soapy water and rinse them well. Do not wash them in the dishwasher.
- Wipe the lower part of the brew head in the unit with a damp cloth or paper towel to remove any coffee grounds.
- Place the porta-filter (without any filter) back in the brew head.
- Place an empty cup under the porta-filter.
- Press the Espresso button once and let the unit brew with water only until it stops automatically.
3. Cleaning the Water Reservoir:
- Discard any remaining water by removing the reservoir and turning it upside down over the sink.
- Wash the water reservoir with soapy water, rinse it well, and wipe it dry. The water reservoir is also dishwasher safe.
4. Deliming the Unit:
- Deliming is necessary when you notice an increase in brewing time or excessive steaming.
- Fill the water reservoir with undiluted white household vinegar and let it sit overnight.
- Discard the vinegar and rinse the reservoir thoroughly with tap water.
- Follow the instructions in the manual to delime the internal parts of the unit using vinegar and water.
