To install the MrSteam 104480 Linear Steam Head, follow these steps:
1. Confirm proper stud spacing: The studs must have a minimum spacing of 14-1/8” and a maximum spacing of 19". If the stud spacing is outside the required range, shim or reposition the studs as necessary.
2. Locate the steam head 6-12” above the finished floor, ensuring that it is positioned where a steam bather cannot come into contact with direct steam emissions.
3. Position the steam head between two properly spaced studs. Extend the adjustable brackets as needed to fit the steam head snugly between the studs. Use a level to ensure the steam head is level, and tighten the eight bracket adjustment screws.
4. If using the optional decorative faceplate, follow the installation instructions provided with the faceplate. If not using the faceplate, position the steam head so that the face will be flush with the finished wall face.
5. Securely mount the steam head brackets to the studs using screws.
6. Plumb rigid copper tubing or brass pipe from the steam generator to the steam head using a ¾” NPT fitting appropriate for the steam piping used. Ensure that the plumbing does not form traps or valleys, and use thread sealant as necessary for a leak-free joint.
7. Before closing the wall, test the installation, piping, and steam head for leaks, traps, position, steam emission zone, and general proper installation.
Please note that these instructions are a summary and should be used in conjunction with the complete installation instructions provided in the MrSteam 104480 Linear Steam Head Instruction Manual.
