To install the Hunter Industries HC Flow Meter, follow these steps:
1. Choose a suitable location for the flow meter. It should be installed downstream from the irrigation control valve and before any zone valves or sprinklers.
2. Ensure that the flow meter is compatible with your controller. It is compatible with Hydrawise enabled HC, HPC, Pro-HC, and HCC controllers.
3. For wired installation, connect the flow meter to the controller using shielded, minimum 18 AWG wire. The wire can be up to 1,000 feet long.
4. For wireless installation, you can add wireless communication to the flow meter by purchasing the wireless sensor separately. This allows you to send flow data wirelessly from the sensor to the controller without the need for wiring or digging trenches.
5. If you are installing the flow meter with union fittings, use the provided brass union fittings for easy installation and removal, especially for winterization.
6. Once installed, the flow meter will provide station-level flow rates and totals. It can also send automatic alerts in the event of high-flow, low-flow, or unscheduled flow conditions.
7. The analog dial on the face of the meter displays daily flow totals and acts as a leak detector.
