To defrost and drain the HP FM-452SG Quart Slimfit Portable Refrigerator, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the unit from the power source.
2. Remove all food from the refrigerator and place it in a separate cooler or insulated bag.
3. Open the drain plug located on the inside base cabinet of the freezer. This will allow the water to drain out.
4. Place pans of hot water inside the freezer to help speed up the defrosting process. Remove large pieces of ice before they melt.
5. Use towels and newspaper to insulate the freezer and prevent water from spilling out.
6. Allow the freezer to defrost completely. This may take several hours depending on the amount of frost buildup.
7. Once the defrosting is complete, sponge excess water from the bottom of the freezer.
8. Clean the interior of the freezer with a solution of warm water and baking soda. Rinse thoroughly with water and wipe dry.
9. Replace the drain plug and plug in the freezer.
10. Return the temperature setting to its previous setting and return the food to the freezer.
Note: Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process. Do not pour hot water directly into the compartment or heat it with a hairdryer while defrosting.
