To install the Emerson 1C20-102 thermostat, follow these steps:
1. Assemble the tools required for installation.
2. Disconnect the electrical power to the system at the main fuse or circuit breaker.
3. Remove the old thermostat by labeling each wire with the terminal designation it was removed from and unscrewing the mounting screws.
4. Mount the base and adaptor plate (if included) of the new thermostat to the wall using the provided screws.
5. Attach the wires to the appropriate terminals on the thermostat base, following the instructions for your specific heating or cooling system.
6. Set the heat anticipator to match the setting of your old thermostat or the current rating stamped on your main heating control.
7. Snap on the thermostat cover and turn on the power.
8. Slide the temperature lever to the desired setting for heat-only systems or use the system and fan switches for heating and cooling systems.
