To install the XDR 81169 Magnum Grip Hill Killer Gated Shifter, follow these steps:
1. Securely chock the vehicle's wheels to prevent it from rolling.
2. Remove the seats from the vehicle to access the center console.
3. Remove the cap from the top of the shifter xxxx .
4. Unscrew the shifter xxxx xxxx and pull off the xxxx .
5. Remove the eleven center console screws and keep them for reassembly.
6. Take out the center console from the vehicle.
7. Move the stock shifter to the neutral position and remove the shift cable lock nut. Disconnect the cable from the shift lever.
8. Remove the retaining clip and shift lever from its shaft.
9. Remove the two nylon bushings from the shift lever.
10. Install the two nylon bushings back into the shift lever assembly.
11. Place the shifter gate over the pivot sleeve, ensuring that the selector pin is located in the widest notch for reverse-neutral.
12. Slide the gate and shift lever onto the shift lever shaft, making sure they are flush against the shifter support frame.
13. Clamp the gate firmly against the shifter support frame.
14. Use the holes in the gate as guides and drill two 1/4" holes through the shifter support frame.
15. Fasten the gate to the shifter support frame using the provided screws, lock washers, and nuts.
16. Attach the retaining clip to the end of the shaft and connect the cable end to the shift lever using the stock lock nut.
17. Move the shift handle from park to high and back several times to ensure proper adjustment of the shift cable.
18. If the selector pin falls into both the park and high detents when the locking lever is released, the shift cable is correctly adjusted. If not, refer to your owner or maintenance manual for cable adjustment instructions.
19. Remove the locking lever from the shift lever assembly, taking care not to lose the small spring washer.
20. Remove both side plates.
21. Install the center console.
22. Reinstall the locking lever, spring washer, and bolt, ensuring proper engagement with the selector pin.
23. Reinstall both side plates.
24. Reinstall the eleven center console screws, using the correct screws for each location as noted earlier.
25. Reinstall the seats in the vehicle.
