To clean the steam iron, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the steam iron is unplugged from the power supply and has completely cooled down.
2. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
3. Perform a self-cleaning process by following these steps:
a. Fill the water reservoir up to the maximum level and then close it.
b. Set the temperature control to its maximum position.
c. Insert the main plug into the wall socket.
d. Allow the iron to heat up until the indicator light goes out.
e. Holding the iron horizontally over the sink, set the variable steam control to the " " position.
f. Boiling water and steam will be ejected from the holes in the soleplate, washing out impurities. Rock the iron forwards and backwards during this operation.
g. Repeat the self-cleaning process if you notice that a significant amount of impurities has been washed out.
h. Move the iron over an old piece of cloth to ensure that the soleplate is dry during storage.
