To install the OSD Nero 8" FS800 Trimless In Wall Subwoofer, you will need the following tools: pencil, drill, tape measure, wire cutter, Phillips screwdriver, utility knife, safety eye wear, gloves, and sandpaper.
1. Start by determining the desired location for the subwoofer on the wall. If you are unsure if there are any obstructions behind the wall, it is recommended to cut a small hole in the center of the desired mounting area to check.
2. Using the provided cut-out dimensions, measure and trace a template on the wall in the desired location.
3. Cut along the traced line using a drywall saw or rotary drill. Take care to follow the dimensions accurately.
4. After cutting, use sandpaper to smooth down the cut-out edge for a cleaner finish.
5. Once the cut-out is ready, you will need to connect the subwoofer to a subwoofer amplifier, such as the OSD SMP-300, as the subwoofer is passive and requires external power.
6. Connect the speaker wire from the subwoofer to the subwoofer amplifier, following the appropriate wire gauge based on the distance between the subwoofer and amplifier (refer to the speaker wire guide in the manual).
7. Mount the subwoofer into the cut-out hole, ensuring it fits securely.
8. Finally, connect the subwoofer amplifier to your home theater receiver or audio source, and adjust the settings as needed to optimize the bass performance.
