To attach the Ranger Design N5-DS36-4 shelving unit to your vehicle, follow these steps:
1. Unpack the components and verify that all parts are present according to the bill of materials provided in the installation guide.
2. Attach both end panels to the shelf trays. Adjust the bottom shelf location to maximize or minimize your space over the wheel.
3. Lift the assembled shelf to your vehicle and put it in place. Attach the short and long corner brackets to the panels, aligning them with the horizontal rim of the vehicle.
4. Before drilling, ensure that you will not hit any critical parts of the vehicle such as the gas tank, wiring harness, or hoses. Use a 1/2" drill bit with a drill collar to drill all the marked holes to a depth of 1/2". Attach plus nuts to the drilled holes.
5. To attach the plus nuts, you can use either a plusnut gun or the 6491 plusnut tool. Put the plus nut on the plusnut gun or tool, then attach the plus nut in the hole by turning the gun or tool forward until the plus nut locks. Remove the gun or tool by turning it in reverse.
6. If you have a Ranger floor, lift the shelving unit inside the van and put it in place. Install the shelving unit to the floor mounting track by sliding bolts into the mounting tracks and putting screws in the last rear slot of the end panels.
7. If you have Ranger wall kits, align the wall brackets to the wall mounting track kits and install the wall brackets to the wall mounting track kits using channel nuts. If you don't have wall kits, align the wall brackets to the plus nuts and install the wall brackets to the wall.
8. After installation is completed, ensure all bolts are tightened. Congratulations, you have successfully installed your Ranger Design N5-DS36-4 shelving unit!
