To install the Klipsch PRO-7502-S-THX In-Wall Speaker, follow these steps:
1. Determine the location: Decide where you want to install the speaker. For optimal performance, consider the recommended placement mentioned in the manual.
2. Prepare the opening: Cut an appropriate size opening in the ceiling using the template provided or the dimensions provided on the Klipsch website. Ensure that the mounting surface is at least 1/2" thick and avoid cutting through any existing wiring or plumbing.
3. Run speaker wiring: Connect the speaker to the audio source by running speaker wiring (18 gauge minimum) to the opening. Comply with all building codes in your area.
4. Attach the wire: Attach the wire to the speaker using the wire's color coding or markings as a guide to maintain proper polarity.
5. Insert the speaker: Insert the speaker assembly into the opening and tighten the Phillips screws. The frame's "dogs" will swivel out and secure the speaker to the ceiling. Use a low torque setting if using a power tool to avoid damaging the speaker.
6. Paint the grille (optional): Before attaching the grille, you may paint it to match your ceiling. Use the supplied clear paint shield to protect the speaker while painting. Avoid excessive paint build-up in the grille perforations. Remove the scrim material attached to the inner surface of the grille before painting and reinstall it after the paint is dry.
7. Attach the grille: Press the grille into place, ensuring it is securely attached.
