Cleaning the lenses of the microscope is an important maintenance task to ensure optimal image quality. Here is the recommended procedure for cleaning the lenses:
1. Use a clean, soft cloth or lens paper to gently wipe the eyepiece lens and the front lens of the 10x or S40x objective. Make circular movements while wiping.
2. If there is stubborn dirt or fingerprints on the lenses, you can moisten the cloth or lens paper with a drop of isopropanol (isopropyl alcohol) and gently wipe the lenses. Do not apply alcohol directly to the lenses.
3. Avoid using cleaning cloths that contain plastic fibers, as they can damage the lens coatings.
4. It is not necessary to clean the lens surfaces on the inner side of the objectives. If there is dust, it can be removed with high-pressure air. Do not remove the objectives from the revolving nosepiece unless necessary.
5. Euromex offers a special microscope cleaning kit (PB.5275) that includes lens paper and isopropanol for cleaning purposes.
Remember to always place the dust cover over the microscope when not in use to prevent dust from entering the instrument.
