To install the Danfoss Pressure Relief Controller, follow these steps:
1. Prior to installation, make sure the system is depressurized, cooled down, emptied, and cleaned. Comply with the instructions of the system manufacturer or operator.
2. Determine the suitable installation position based on the media temperature:
- For media temperatures up to 150 °C, the controller can be installed in any position.
- For media temperatures above 150 °C, installation is only permitted in horizontal pipelines with the actuator oriented downwards.
3. Install the valve:
- Install a strainer before the controller.
- Rinse the system before installing the valve.
- Observe the flow direction on the valve body.
- Ensure the flanges in the pipeline are in a parallel position and the sealing surfaces are clean and undamaged.
- Install the valve and tighten the screws crosswise in 3 steps up to the maximum torque.
4. Install the actuator:
- xxxx the actuator stem into the valve stem.
- Remove the spindle protection cup and release the valve spindle by removing the nut, washer, and cardboard tube.
- Align the actuator stem with the valve stem and connect both stems by turning the pressure actuator clockwise until fully connected.
- Release the spring and release the union nut by pulling out the blocking spring.
- Tighten the union nut to the valve with minimal force.
- Adjust the position of the actuator according to the impulse tubes connected to the valve.
- Hold the actuator in position and tighten the union nut to the valve with 100-120 Nm torque.
5. Mount the impulse tubes:
- Use the impulse tube set AF or appropriate pipes.
- Connect the impulse tube directly to the valve or the pipeline, following the provided instructions.
6. Insulate the pressure actuator if the media temperature is up to 120 °C.
