Before using the scale, remove the plastic key from the bottom to release the weighing mechanism. Place the scale on a hard, level surface and allow it to adjust to room temperature. Perform several weighing cycles, stepping on and off the scale, to settle the internal mechanism. Finally, adjust the pointer to zero using the Zero Adjust xxxx . For more detailed instructions, please refer to the "Operating Instructions" section of the Salter Pro-Helix Mechanical Scale Instruction Manual.
