To clean the Presto ProFry Immersion Element Deep Fryer, follow these steps:
1. After the unit and oil have cooled completely, carefully lift the control assembly out of the fryer and wipe it with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the control assembly in water or wash it in a dishwasher.
2. Grasp two opposite corners of the removable pot and lift it out of the deep fryer. If you plan to reuse the cooking oil, strain it to remove any food particles and store it in a tightly sealed container away from heat and direct light.
3. Wash the removable pot, fry/steam basket, fryer cover, and base in the dishwasher or in warm, sudsy water. Do not use steel wool scouring pads, abrasive kitchen cleaners, bleach, vinegar, lemon juice, or other acid-based cleaners on these parts.
4. If desired, the basket handle can be removed for cleaning. Squeeze the drain hooks and fold the handle into the basket until the handle bars are out of the brackets. After cleaning, reattach the handle, making sure both pegs are in the bracket holes and the handle bars are in the brackets. Fold the handle into the basket for storage.
5. Check the magnetic plug before each use to ensure that no metal items have become attached to the magnet.
6. Periodically check the screws on the base handles and feet to ensure they are secure. Retighten if necessary, using a standard #2 Phillips head screwdriver. Do not overtighten, as it can result in stripping of screws or cracking of handles and feet.
