To install the GE current WTS10 Daintree Wireless Thermostat, follow these steps:
1. Choose a suitable location for the thermostat, 4 to 5 feet above the floor, with good airflow and away from direct sunlight or heat-generating devices.
2. Turn off power to the air conditioning and/or heating system.
3. Determine the type of HVAC equipment and note it down.
4. Refer to the Wiring: Thermostat Terminals section in the manual to determine the number of wires needed for installation.
5. Make sure there is a common connection between the HVAC unit and the thermostat's "C" terminal.
6. If replacing an existing thermostat, mark each wire connected to the existing thermostat with the terminal letter it is connected to.
7. Mount the thermostat by removing the front body from the base and guiding the thermostat wires through the center opening in the base.
8. Hold the base against the wall in the desired location, mark the mounting hole placements, and install wall anchors if necessary.
9. Attach the base to the wall using the supplied screws.
10. Wire the terminals on the thermostat base to the attached HVAC equipment according to the Wiring: Thermostat Terminals section.
11. Set the appropriate switches on the thermostat circuit board for your HVAC system type.
12. Attach the thermostat front body to the base, aligning the terminal pins.
13. Restore power to the system.
14. Test the thermostat according to the procedure outlined in the manual for your specific HVAC system.
15. Set the time and date on the thermostat and review the default program schedules.
16. If you're ready to commission the wireless network, follow the instructions for joining the ZigBee Wireless Network.
