To install the SKYLINK IS-002A Garage Door Opener Safety Beam sensor, follow these steps:
1. Identify the Master and Slave unit: The unit with the marking "Master unit" and the SET button is the Master unit.
2. Setup the Wireless Safety Beam Sensor:
a. Undo the xxxx on the bottom side of the Safety Beam Sensor (Master and Slave unit).
b. Pry out the front cover from the back cover.
c. Insert 2 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
d. Attach the front cover to the back cover and tighten the xxxx on the bottom of the unit.
3. Mounting the Sensor on the Door Track:
a. Slide and clip the mounting bracket onto the garage door track.
b. Ensure the sensor is mounted between 4" (10 cm) and 6" (15 cm) above the ground.
c. Follow the same procedure to install the sensor on the other track, ensuring the sensors are facing each other.
4. Mounting the Sensor on the Wall (Optional):
a. Use a wooden block to increase depth for wall mounting, providing enough clearance for the sensor beam to be unobstructed.
b. Remove the spring bracket from the mounting bracket.
c. Slide the sensor from the mounting bracket.
d. Slide the spring bracket from the mounting bracket.
e. Re-install and secure the sensor to the mounting bracket.
5. Align the Wireless Safety Beam Sensor:
a. Press the SET button once on the Wireless Safety Beam Sensor (Master unit).
b. The red LED will flash quickly.
c. Slide the mounting bracket up or down or adjust by a slight bend if needed for alignment.
d. Once aligned properly, the red LED will stay on. The sensors will return to normal operation after stable for 10 seconds.
6. Testing with Obstruction:
With the sensors properly aligned, place an obstacle in the path of the beam. Press the SET button once on the Master sensor. The Master sensor's red LED should flash quickly, and the slave sensor's red LED should be off.
7. Setup The Radio Module:
a. Unplug the power cord of your garage door opener.
b. Insert the Radio Module into the socket in the garage door opener.
c. Power up the garage door opener.
8. Programming The Wireless Safety Beam Sensor:
a. Press and release the SET button on the Radio Module.
b. The green LED will flash for 15 seconds.
c. Press and hold the SET button on the Wireless Safety Beam Sensor (Master unit) for 5 seconds.
d. The red LED in the Wireless Safety Beam Sensor will flash slowly. Release the SET button.
e. Once programmed, both the green LED on the Radio Module and the red LED on the Wireless Safety Beam Sensor will flash once, indicating successful programming.
9. Mount the Wireless Safety Beam Sensor back to back on the door tracks.
Adjust the height of the sensor mounted between 4" (10 cm) and 6" (15 cm) above the ground.
Follow the same procedure to install the sensor on the other track, ensuring the sensors are facing each other.
