To connect the ART Pro Audio TUBEMP Microphone Preamp to your recording setup, follow these steps:
1. Unpack the unit and ensure that you have the necessary cables and power supply.
2. Connect your microphone to the XLR input or the 1/4-inch input of the TUBEMP Preamp.
3. Connect the output of the TUBEMP Preamp to your recording device or mixer. You can use either the balanced XLR output or the unbalanced 1/4-inch output, depending on your setup.
4. If your microphone requires phantom power, make sure to turn on the +48V phantom power switch on the rear panel of the TUBEMP Preamp.
5. Set the input gain using the GAIN control on the front panel. You can adjust the gain range using the GAIN switch.
6. Adjust the output level using the OUTPUT control on the front panel. The OUTPUT LEVEL display will indicate the signal level after the output control.
7. If you want to use the compressor function of the TUBEMP Preamp, adjust the THRESHOLD control to set the point at which the compressor will act on the input signal. You can also adjust the SLOPE and SPEED switches to customize the compression characteristics.
8. Once you have made all the necessary connections and adjustments, power on the TUBEMP Preamp using the POWER switch on the rear panel.
