To set up the Arkscan 2054A Shipping Label Printer on your computer, follow these steps:
1. Connect the printer to your computer via USB and install the printer driver using the instructions provided in the first video on the Arkscan website.
2. Once the printer is confirmed working via the USB connection, switch the port from USB to an IP port for LAN setup.
3. Ensure you have a network router or switch and an Ethernet cable (RJ45) for the hardware setup. Connect the printer's Ethernet port to your network router's Ethernet port using the Ethernet cable. Power on the printer with the provided power supply.
4. Determine the printer's IP address by using one of the following methods:
- Use the "Configuration Tool for Windows" provided by Arkscan to scan your network and retrieve the IP address.
- Check your router or switch to see if the printer is listed there.
- Connect the computer and printer via USB and use the "Configuration Page" option in the tool to print out the IP address.
5. Once you have the printer's IP address, create an IP port for the printer on your computer:
- Go to the printer driver installed with the USB interface under Printer and Scanner.
- Open the printer properties and go to the Port tab.
- Key in the IP address of the printer in the "Printer Name or IP Address" field.
- Check the checkbox of the IP port you created and click "Apply" to assign the IP port to the printer.
6. Test if the printer is working over the network connection by unplugging the USB cable (if connected) and printing a label to the printer.
7. If you want to share the printer with other computers on your network, choose the "Network Ethernet or WIFI" option during the driver installation on those computers and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
