To install the Wilo Star-Z 15 Circulation Pump, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the pump is disconnected from the power supply before starting the installation.
2. Choose a suitable installation site that is weatherproof, frost-free, dust-free, and well-ventilated. It should also be easily accessible.
3. Flush the pipe system before installation to remove any dirt or debris.
4. If you have the Star-Z 15 C, Star-Z 15 A, or Star-Z 15 APress versions, the stop valve and non-return valve are pre-installed. For the Star-Z 15 version, these valves need to be installed.
5. Prepare the installation site to avoid exposing the pump to mechanical stresses.
6. Choose the correct installation position as shown in the manual (Fig. A). The arrow on the back of the housing indicates the direction of flow.
7. Release the cap nut and unscrew it completely if necessary. Be careful not to damage the housing seal and replace any damaged seals.
8. Turn the motor head so that the cable xxxx connection points downwards. This is important to prevent water from penetrating and damaging the pump.
9. Tighten the cap nut securely.
10. For the Star-Z 15 C, Star-Z 15 A, and Star-Z 15 APress versions, turn the slot with a screwdriver so that it is parallel to the direction of flow. To close, turn the slot so that it is across the direction of flow.
11. Fit the thermal insulation shell provided.
12. Connect the pipework, ensuring that the valves are fully open. Use the appropriate tightening torque for the valve connections.
13. For the electrical connections, only a qualified electrician should work on the electrical connection. Install a permanent connecting cable with a plug device or all-pole switch. Follow the instructions in the manual for connecting the cable securely.
14. Fill the system with water.
15. The pump rotor space will vent automatically after a short time of operation. The pump can run dry briefly without being damaged.
