To properly light and operate the WHITE BEAR RENTAL Big Buddy Portable Propane Heater, follow these steps:
1. Make sure the heater is in an upright position and located in a well-ventilated area.
2. Attach a 1 lb. disposable propane cylinder to the heater by screwing it clockwise until hand-tight. Do not use thread sealant on this connection.
3. Check the cylinder connection for leaks by applying soapy water at the threaded connection under the domed plastic cover. Do not use an exposed flame to check for leaks.
4. Depress and turn the Control xxxx counterclockwise to the "PILOT" position. The ignitor will spark to light the pilot burner. Hold the control xxxx down in the "Pilot" position for 30-60 seconds.
5. After the pilot is lit, release the xxxx . It should return to the fully extended position.
6. Turn the control xxxx to the "LO" or "MD" position to light the heater. Leave it on the "LO" or "MD" position until the left burner tile has turned bright orange.
7. Once the left burner tile has turned bright orange, you can adjust the heat output by turning the control xxxx to the desired position ("LO", "MD", or "HI").
8. To shut off the heater, slightly push down and turn the Control xxxx clockwise to the "OFF" position.
9. When not in use, turn off the propane at the supply tank and allow the heater to use up the propane in the supply line until it shuts off. Then, slightly push down and turn the Control xxxx clockwise to the "OFF" position.
10. It is important to disconnect the LP-gas cylinder from the heater when not in use and store them outdoors in a well-ventilated space, out of reach of children, and not in a building, garage, or any other enclosed area.
