To install the Hunter 19991, 19992 Maple Park light fixture, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the power by turning off the circuit breakers to the outlet box associated with the wall switch location to avoid electrical shock.
2. Ensure that the installation site has a ground wire. If not, consult a qualified electrician before proceeding.
3. Familiarize yourself with national and local electrical codes ANSI/NFPA 70 and consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about wiring.
4. Carefully remove all contents from the carton, keeping the glass shades in their Styrofoam tray to prevent breakage.
5. Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and remove the old fixture, including the old mounting bracket.
6. Remove the new mounting bracket assembly from the bag and remove the cap nuts from the mounting screws.
7. Place the mounting plate over the junction box, ensuring that the mounting screws extend out away from the ceiling.
8. Adjust the position of the mounting screws so that they can be exposed 5-6 mm after passing through the canopy to fit the cap nuts. Tighten the nuts on the mounting screws once the ideal position is confirmed.
9. Pull the house wires through the center of the mounting plate and secure the mounting plate to the junction box by tightening the screws.
10. Slide the cord through the cord grip to adjust the wire length and lock it tight with the included screwdriver.
11. Adjust the placement of the strain relief on the cord above the canopy.
12. Cut excess cord, leaving enough length to reach from each end to the center cord for making connections.
13. Remove the outer jacket of each cord to expose the individual wires (white, black, green).
14. Strip half an inch of jacket away from the ends of each individual wire.
15. Secure the xxxx collar loop into the mounting plate.
16. With the help of a helper supporting the fixture's weight, attach the fixture's wires from all 3 cords to the power supply wires from the junction box (black to black, white to white, grounding to grounding).
17. Twist the ends of the wire pairs together and twist on a wire connector, ensuring all twists are in the same direction.
18. Loop the fixture's ground wire around the grounding xxxx and tighten it. If there is no ground wire from the junction box, contact a qualified electrician.
19. Raise the canopy to the mounting plate and position the mounting screws so that they protrude through the openings of the canopy.
20. Secure the canopy in place with cap nuts.
21. Install light bulbs (not included) according to the fixture's specifications, making sure not to exceed the recommended wattage.
22. Turn on the power and test the fixture. Your installation is now complete.
