To properly install the US SHIFT com Throttle Position Sensor Adapter, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Ground connection of the Quick transmission controller
- Connect both black ground wires from the Quick controller to the main ground of the EFI system, as close to the EFI ECU as possible.
- For Holley Sniper EFI, connect the black ground wires to the black "Battery Negative" wire of the Sniper's wiring harness, close to the 7-pin "Main Harness" connector.
- For FiTech Throttle Body Systems, connect the black ground wires to a large ring terminal placed under one of the nuts or bolts attaching the throttle body to the intake manifold.
- For Edelbrock Pro-Flow 4, connect the black ground wires to the black "Battery Ground" wire of the Edelbrock main wiring harness, close to the ECU main connector.
Step 2: Install the adapter between the throttle position sensor and the ECU wiring harness
- Disconnect the small round connector from the throttle position sensor of the EFI system.
- If necessary, remove any white or gray plastic insert in the connector.
- Connect the two connectors of the TPS adapter to the throttle position sensor and to the harness connector that originally plugged into the TPS.
- Ensure the adapter wiring is dressed properly to prevent interference with throttle linkage or damage due to heat.
Step 3: Connect to the transmission controller's TPS input
- Connect the dark green wire (labeled "TPS Signal") coming from the TPS adapter to the dark green wire (also labeled "TPS Signal") of the transmission controller's vehicle harness.
Step 4: Proceed with transmission controller and/or EFI system installation
- Follow the installation manual of the Quick transmission controller for further installation steps.
- Perform the TPS calibration procedure for the Quick transmission controller as described in its installation manual.
