To install the Flotec FP7210 Standard Epoxy-Lined Tank, please follow the instructions provided in the manual. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Before installing or servicing the tank, make sure to disconnect the power to the pump and release all pressure in the tank and system.
2. For horizontal tanks, use Teflon tape on threads and xxxx the plastic elbow (Key No. 8) into the side discharge port of the pump. Do not use pipe joint compound on threads as it can damage plastics.
3. Set the pump on the tank bracket without bolting it down.
4. Hold the hose (Key No. 7) alongside the standpipe in the tank and the plastic elbow in the pump. Measure the length from the bottom of the standpipe to the plastic elbow, leaving a 1/2" (12mm) gap above the bayonet grooves.
5. Mark and cut the hose to the measured length using a sharp knife.
6. Remove the pump from the tank bracket and install the hose on the elbow using water as a lubricant.
7. Place two hose clamps on the hose.
8. Install bolts in the tank bracket, coming up from below the bracket. Wedge the bolts in place so that the square portion of the bolt head engages the slot. If you have a cast iron pump with 2-3/4" bolt hole spacing, install a 1/2" narrow washer between the bolt head and bracket to provide sufficient clamping surface.
9. With the hose in place on the pump, install the hose on the tank standpipe. This may require some force, so use water as a lubricant (avoid using oils or greases as they may damage the hose). Work the hose down the standpipe until the end of the hose fits against the tank side.
10. Replace the pump on the bracket over the bolts. Install lock washers and nuts on the bolts and tighten them until the pump is solidly bolted to the bracket. Remove the wedges.
11. Recheck the position of the hose on the tank standpipe and plastic elbow. If properly in place, tighten one hose clamp over the grooves on the plastic elbow and the other halfway down the standpipe on the tank.
12. Connect the air volume control (AVC) and tubing to the tank and pump as shown in the manual.
For vertical tanks, use Teflon tape on threaded pipe joints to the tank. Install the air volume control separately according to the instructions provided. Connect the inlet and outlet pipes as shown in the illustration.
Please note that these are general installation instructions. For specific details and illustrations, refer to the Flotec FP7210 Standard Epoxy-Lined Tanks Instruction Manual.
